By Foot
Walking is a great way to experience the Eden Valley countryside. An excellent network of footpaths allows anything from a short stroll to a full day's walk, taking in many of the area's best features along the way. The footpath network provides routes between all towns and villages of the area.

For details of the area's footpaths, please visit the Explore Kent website (Click for website) Promoted routes can be found in the short walks section and longer walks section.

By Bike
The relatively flat landscape of the Eden Valley makes it ideal for cycling. There is only one promoted route, but many places are accessible in anything from 30 minutes to a half day ride.

The Tonbridge to Penshurst cycle route offers an excellent, almost traffic-free ride from the heart of Tonbridge alongside the River Medway, out into the countryside as far as the glorious buildings of Penshurst Place. Click here to download (PDF 993kb)

Cycle hire is not available within the Eden Valley itself, but Cycle-Ops in Tonbridge hires cycles for day use or longer. (Click for website).
